Over 100 years of Johnen Druck

In 1907, the printer Richard Johnen (grandfather of the current owner) founded our book printing company and bindery in Zeltingen on the Moselle.
After the war, in 1946, his son Josef Johnen took over the company and expanded it, primarily as a label printer and forms publisher.
In 1984, we took over the management of the company under the leadership of Richard Johnen, an industrial engineer specializing in the graphics industry, following the accidental death of Josef Johnen.
After strong growth, we relocated to Bernkastel-Kues in 1991 and built a commercial print shop there.
In 1992, we founded our digital-print-service and entered the digital pre-press market at an early stage.
In 1996, we expanded our range of services by setting up the Lettershop profit center.
Between 1998 and 2010, we continuously expanded our production areas and modernized our machinery.
In 2012, we commissioned a completely new storage area for the services of johnen SERVICE +.
In 2014, we installed the system printing division in order to be able to offer our customers standard products even more economically.
Between 2016 and 2019, we completely replaced our printing press fleet and acquired two Heidelberg XL eight-color presses and an XL 5-color + coating system from Heidelberger.
In 2018, we expanded our warehouse capacity by 1,500 pallet spaces by leasing new space.
In 2020, we invested in a two-color S+W printing press to meet our customers' requirements even better.
In 2021, we expanded our processing with two new folding machines of the latest generation from Heidelberger.
In 2022, we founded the "Johnen-Print-Luxembourg" branch to optimize our service for customers and further expand the market.
We also invested in new software in 2022 to meet our customers' need for closed store solutions and have been expanding these internally and externally ever since.
In 2023, we expanded our warehouse by a further 1,500 pallet spaces.
In 2024, we carried out various replacement investments and exchanged older machines for new ones.
